Clearinghouse Program
The Clearinghouse of Love INC daily receives calls from people in need and studies how best to meet the needs of people in our community one by one. Many referrals are made to other organizations for the services they provide. Other referrals are made to churches to help provide for the needs not otherwise met in our community. Love INC calls a Hometown Missionary Coordinator about a particular need. Then the Hometown Missionary Coordinator considers who in his/her church could meet the need, and calls her/him to discuss the opportunity. If the church member agrees to help, then they become a "Hometown Missionary". . .love in action. Love INC has established new programs to help coordinate the work of Hometown Missionaries.

The Clearinghouse of Love INC receives calls Monday through Friday, 9 A.M. to 12 P.M. Staff and Office Missionaries work together to help interview the Neighbors in need, and, when possible, locate the help that is requested. Afternoons are spent verifying the needs by contacting people who can verify the account given by the Neighbor during the morning telephone call. When a need is verified, assistance is sought by contacting organizations, churches, Hometown Missionaries, or whatever other help may be available.

The Clearinghouse keeps accurate files of all people who have called for help. One of the benefits of the recordkeeping is that people who are abusing and overusing local benevolences can be identified and re-directed. In such a way, local money and other assistance can be best directed for most effective use.

Encourager Program
During a time of forced relocation, a family may have more problems than just relocating. A Neighbor often feels overwhelmed and even hopeless because of the weight of their situation. At such times, regular problems are compounded by the new crisis of looking for a new place to live. In order to help a Neighbor through a difficult situation, Encouragers will be matched with a Neighbor to love, support, and encourage them during the crisis.

Love INC staff will screen all Neighbors needing assistance before a match is made. Encouragers will learn about the family, their present needs, and relevant background information. When an Encourager agrees to help a family, he or she will help create an Action Plan that will guide both Encourager and Neighbor in how they will be working together. Matches will be for three months (less if needed) and evaluated for completion of goals or if more time is needed. Learn more about how to help.

Crew Love
Crew Love is the name given to a special program of Love INC that helps groups of Hometown Missionaries find people who need work done by a group of people. Information about crew leaders and preferred jobs are kept updated at Love INC. When requests are made for that need to be met, crew leaders are contacted with the necessary information.

Crews perform such activities as auto maintenance and repair, help celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, deep house and yard cleanup, house repair and ramp construction, form teams to help transport patients to regular treatments for a period of time, help people move or deliver used furniture, paint houses, help with shopping, and yard work. Caregiver Program
The Love INC Caregiver Registry links qualified and screened caregivers to senior adults to help them maintain their independence. For eight years we have made positive contributions to the quality of life of senior adults by maximizing their freedom, providing information and referrals, and providing them in-home care.

In-home assessments from a licensed social worker can assist seniors and their families with developing a plan of care to maximize their independence. Whether there is a need for short- or long-term care, or minimal to moderate care, our staff can coordinate and schedule caregivers to help in the home for only one day a week or up to a 24 hour care schedule.

Our caregivers provide care and support with personal care such as bathing, dressing, grooming; light housekeeping; meal preparation; grocery shopping; and companionship. The Love INC Caregiver Registry is more than a solution. . .it is a ministry of love to senior adults, their families, and the Nacogdoches community.
